Finally taking off....

After waiting in the terminal for the additional hour and a half, we are finally in the air. The kids played hide n’ seek in their seats (imagine that?), ate their candies to help with their ears in dealing with air pressure, had their dinner, and we are only in Salt Lake City on the map! Thankfully, Christopher is already tired from the excitment and is now fast asleep.  The girls are playing their DS games which they only get to enjoy on trips, and Richard is now reading the book he’s been trying to get his hands on for months. I can’t believe I am having a quiet moment so I decided to be the first writer for this trip’s blog. Our flight is almost 2hrs behind schedule. Now the challenge will be to see if we make it to the ship in time for boarding tonight. If not, we will have to consider plan B, which is to meet them at the next port in Florence. Not something we’d like to do but if the airport immigration and the transportation all operate in their usual “ROMAN” manners, we might just have to do that. For now, we will just keep our fingers crossed. The photos here seem ordinary but these “ordinary” moments at the airport and aboard the Alitalia flight prompted Richard and I to take these shots of our kids. They are always so happy, so content and so engaged with one another. We are so very lucky. And we know it. Jill @ 7:42pm on the plane Los Angeles time
